Mariel Vela García is a writer and curator.

She has written about art and cinema for publications such as Revista de la Universidad de México, Onda MX, and Correspondencias / Cine & Pensamiento. Her essays have been published in artist books, including those by Melanie Ender and Ana Segovia. She is currently writing a book of experimental essays titled Lugar de perros de agua.
