Plataforma invites you to the life drawing workshop Boceteo y brebaje, led by Julieta Beltrán Lazo.

In its third edition, this workshop—which has already become a classic of Plataforma's public program—invites you to a session guided by artist Julieta Beltrán Lazo. This time, it will focus entirely on quick gesture and somatic experimentation, activating the body as a tool for mark-making. Through practical exercises based on looseness and speed with a live model, participants will use their full arm, shoulder, and intuition to expand the scale of their lines. It is an invitation to draw with a different physical awareness, understanding the stroke as a living, intuitive process free from rigidity.

About the artist: Julieta Beltrán Lazo is a visual artist and educator based between Guadalajara and Chicago. She develops a multidisciplinary practice that deeply explores memory, corporeality, and somatic expressions. Through methodological intersections between painting, writing, textiles, and performance, her work investigates how the body shelters, processes, and communicates lived experiences.

Her academic background supports both her technical and theoretical approach: she holds an MFA in Visual Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and a BFA in Visual Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
