a voz del cuerpo en el oído de la máquina

MACCO presents The Voice of the Body in the Ear of the Machine, an exhibition by Margo Kalach and Stéphanie Janaina curated by Regina De Con Cossio.

The exhibition explores the encounter between two bodies in dialogue: on the one hand, Margo Kalach’s light-drawing devices and sculptures; on the other, the body of Stéphanie Janaina, who activates the mechanisms through voice and choreography. Both artists seek alternative ways of constructing image and language.

An initial large-scale photographic device is fragmented and expanded throughout the space, appearing as a reimagined ferrous field of heavy structures. Its basic elements—light, time, and movement—are amplified until the interior of the camera becomes traversable. The second body moves intuitively within it, guided by its own memory through voice and dance.

Both bodies interact in an exchange of languages. In their rhythm, they inscribe the passage of time. Through their own movement, each manifests possibilities of image and of writing.
