Israel Espinoza

Despensa Semanal, the most recent solo exhibition by Israel Espinoza 'Cisco' (Ensenada, B.C.), is configured as a logbook: his paintings operate as visual records of consumption. Each work presents a product that becomes part of his weekly grocery shopping and, at the same time, functions as a thermometer: an indicator of the value of goods and their inflation in our country.

Espinoza articulates a reflection around an everyday gesture of survival: consumption. Starting from this seemingly ordinary act, he presents a selection of products that are part of his daily life. His work triggers a reflection that transcends the individual and extends toward the shared experiences of Mexican families.
