Pàzuzu

Multidisciplinary artist Eber JC presents his mural Pàzuzu at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Oaxacan Cultures (MACCO). The work takes as its point of departure Pàzuzu, a Mesopotamian deity who embodies a complex duality: on the one hand, he is a figure of destruction and desolation; on the other, he symbolizes shelter and the protection of children.

Through this powerful image, Eber JC invites us to reread both history and the present. His mural functions as a map or a lens that allows us to reexamine and newly understand the narratives of our past and our current surroundings.
