Tower of Babel

Long ago we all spoke the same language, we all used the same words.

Under that understanding, humanity decided that it would build a city and as the center of the city, a tower. Its peak would be so high that it would connect us with the divine and prevent us from getting lost and separated. We would be united and protected forever.

But that was not our destiny.

The myth says that a supreme force was deconstructing, partition by partition, the idea of being isolated and protected in the heights. With the tower in ruins, the wind blew people in different directions. Along their paths, people found more than one way to express themselves, words changed. With our feet on the ground, looking towards the sky – and not the other way around –, the world, its ideas and its languages emerged.

With his feet on the ground, the human being faced the immensity and vastness of his own nature; On his own scale he found the freedom to think, know and build.

Celebrating the infinite possibilities to which our singularities give space, Ángulo Cero, Balmaceda Studio and Peca reinterpret the myth of the Tower of Babel. In this joint exhibition the conversation takes place, not only between the aesthetic and material languages of the pieces, but also between the ideas, stories and hands of those who created them.

A careful selection that promotes the intersection between art and design; ancestral techniques revitalized by experimentation with independent materials and disciplines.
