Projection
-> Jul 19 2024
Centro Cultural de España en México presents the screening of films produced by the Fundación César Manrique and based on the island of Lanzarote itself, homeland of the multifaceted Manrique: The screenings will end with a question and answer session with Miguel G. Morales, Spanish filmmaker and visual artist born in Tenerife, Canary Islands.
His work is situated on the periphery of non-fiction with a strong eclectic, investigative and essayistic character. The loneliness, the recovery of Historical Memory, the decontextualization of the archive at the service of power, the invisibility of the working class, environmental activism or the inquiry into the polysemic meaning of the image. He alternates his film work with video creations, collaborations with visual or performing artists and audiovisual exhibition design.
