The Centro de la Imagen is a public institution, attached to the Secretaría de Cultura, which objectives are to divulge, preserve and reflect on photography through exhibitions, educational programs, publications and the creation of a collection. Its facilities located in a former tobacco factory from the late eighteenth century, have hosted around 360 exhibitions about photography and image showing the work of national and international artists who have consolidated it as a reference both nationally and internationally. Its activities also include workshops, seminars and presentations, as well as two of the most relevant events for the photography community in Mexico: la Bienal de Fotografía and Foto México.
