Casa Wabi Mexico City is the exhibition space of the Casa Wabi Foundation which is an initiative created in 2014 by Mexican artist Bosco Sodi. The main headquarters are located on the Oaxacan Coast and were designed by architect Tadao Ando. This 45 square meters venue located in the Santa Maria la Ribera neighborhood seeks to strengthen the development of the local scene by promoting Mexican artists. Four exhibitions per year are organized, presenting the work of young artists not yet represented by any gallery in the City. The name of the foundation comes from the Japanese concept "Wabi-Sabi" which advocates for an aesthetic vision that values imperfection. Therefore, at Casa Wabi, they hope to boost collaboration at a local level and social commitment through the arts and educational projects.
