Banda Municipal is an an gallery for art, management and encounters. It opened its doors in September 2022 as a proposal to overflow the limits between artistic disciplines, creating a place for contemporary practices though exhibition, publishing, education and coexistence. They conceive artistic practices as living elements with poetic and politic efficiency which allow the movement of ankylosed structures as unique ways to see and feel. They are interested in plural thinking and having a position towards what is happening. Banda Municipal is passionate about the art which talks by itself, which tells you why and where it comes from. In this way, they seek to provoke meetings within persons, postures, disciplines and regions.
1.- Art gallery: how are the thinking, the imagination and the gaits patterns activated? Banda Municipal bets on the encounter between artistic disciplines and how they are related to everyday life, social context, and other possibilities of being. We bet on diversity of practices to create alternative reception channels.
Our artists: Sebastián Baudrand (Santiago de Chile, 1981), Omar Gámez (Mexico City,1975), Chica Banquete (Corina Bistritsky, Buenos Aires, 1991), Renata Cassiano, (Jalapa, Veracruz, 1981) Andrea Romero (Mexico City, 1988), Arturo Hernández Alcázar (Mexico City, 1978), María José Sesma (Torreón, Coahuila, 1983).
2.-Management gallery: Banda Municipal is a living space for exhibition, not only as a container of visual culture, but also as a space for educational formats which promote public discussions and, in turn, we have and advisory board that proposes artists and projects related to the interests of the gallery and that they can expand the dialogue with the artist that Banda Municipal represents.
Our advisory board: Polina Stroganova, Mauricio Marcín, Sandra Sánchez, Iván Mayorquín, Yvonne Venegas.
3.- Encounters gallery: Art is a space to create new connections and to reconnect ourselves. The party, the food and the sundays as affective places.
