Zurciendo Vacíos

The Zurciendo Vacíos project explores the practice of mending and textile upcycling as sustainable alternatives to combat the current trend of discarding damaged clothing. Through a series of activities at the Plaza Fátima Cultural Center, the community is invited to participate in this collective effort to create and think about what a social “second skin” would be like that does not immediately discard what is believed to be of no use. On March 29 at 7pm there will be a talk about participatory textile art and on March 30, 2023 there will be a performance at 7pm and an experimental fashion catwalk that reflects the results of the project at 9pm.
