Mandy Cano Villalobos is an interdisciplinary artist whose projects include assemblage, sculpture, textiles and crafts. From discarded objects, Cano creates opulent pieces that interrogate the values of our culture and the stories that have built our globalized present.
Suicidal Darling is a textile artwork made out of broken toys, fake flowers, unmatched socks, bottle caps, deflated balloons, human hair, candy wrappers and other remnants of everyday life. It is a tribute to domestic labor and a celebration of women's invisible work. This work is presented by the artist and Proyecto H gallery.
