Julio Galán

Un conejo partido a la mitad

Julio Galán is one of the most prominent artists of the 1980s whose work has been recognized on the contemporary global stage.

This exhibition highlights the way in which the artist represents himself beyond the pictorial, reaching performance. It is one of the first in the country to address gender issues.

In 1993, MARCO exhibited a retrospective of Julio Galán's work with his name as the title, while in 2007 the show Pensando en ti was organized as a posthumous tribute to the artist. Un conejo partido a la mitad comes from the Tamayo Museum.
