In its East room, Colector presents a solo show by Jorge Usán (España, 1979).
The series ° | ○ • consists of eleven three-dimensional pieces made under the rigorous and characteristic by Usán process, and presented in its traditional monochromatism, in addition to including the creation of a fragrance and a jewel to wear it, which was made in artistic collaboration with Sandovalis, a perfumer in Yucatán, Condé Diamante, Madrid-based jewelers, and the Real Fábrica de Cristales de Madrid that made the blown glass jars that make up this piece of portable art. The title of the series moves away from any pretense and refers to the first representations made by humans to describe the constellations observed. In this series, the artist's monochromatic signature and his mastery of using it is undeniable. Leaning on this occasion more for the use of black than white, Usán presents alchemy as the basis of his work. The transformation of reality and matter to create what has never been seen or imagined before and to tame nature. Black is for the alchemists that Pangea from which everything arose, it is the origin from which white can be reached and likewise, black is 'nothing' and 'everything' simultaneously.
