In Close Proximity: Rafael Bustamante

Heart Ego is pleased to introduce In Close Proximity, a new format of the individual show presenting artists’ work in momentum. Without imposing strict thematic or narrative limits, this format aims to catch a glimpse of the artists’ ongoing stylistic and conceptual investigation, presenting recent works as records of their aesthetic journey.

With the first edition of In Close Proximity, Heart Ego introduces Monterrey-based artist Rafael Bustamante (b. 1993, Leon, Mexico). The show presents the artist’s inquiry into color psychology through dynamic geometric abstractionism, with canvases that engulf the viewer with the movement of gradients and colors. Utilizing the color theory of communication and psychology, Bustamante depicts emotional seascape with its inherent fluidity, deceptions, shades, and contrasts.
