Gerardo Monsiváis

GEM3 Gallery presents as closing of the exhibition Distópolis, a concert by Gerardo Monsiváis (Yeyo Moroder) and the presentation of the book Mil hilos: Manifiesto en contra de las imposiciones tediosas by Guillermo Santamarina.

Visual artist and musician, Gerardo Monsiváis started his career in 1995. His work is mostly concentrated in drawing and painting, although he has also used diverse techniques as a complement: video, photography, installation, serigraphy and sculpture.

Sound art and experimental music have been his paralell activities. He is the co-founder of the multidisciplinary collective of improvisation Los Lichis, and other projects under the alias Yeyo von Morder.

Within his career he has presented more than twenty solo exhibitions and more than fifty group shows, in both public institutions and private galleries in Mexico. His music and visual work have also been displayed in the United States, France Spain, Colombia and Belgium.
