Charlie Godet Thomas

For the closing of Charlie Godet Thomas' first solo exhibition with Colector, an open-mic poem reading will take place in the gallery, inaugurated by the artist's presence and reading of some excerpts from poetry book. Signed copies of the exhibition posters will be available to attendees.

At the window, staring conjures a cinematic image, one that we might recognise from any one of the dystopian climate-catastrophe films of recent years, of a lone figure looking blankly out at a changed, barely recognisable world. This figure is a character whose skin we all now find ourselves inhabiting, staring out at a world which is, seemingly, beyond repair, and the scale of what we see unfolding just the other side of this thin pane of glass can be paralyzing.
