Mueble Arquitectónico II

Joselo Maderista

The Zapopan Art Museum (MAZ) presents Architectural Furniture II, the second exhibition of design objects of the Fashion and Contemporary Design Program, and also the second edition of Architectural Furniture, a project by Joselo Maderista.

Architects and artists: BARBAPIÑA Architects, Tatiana Bilbao Estudio, Jose Dávila, Saúl Figueroa and Ana Victoria, Pérez Gil, Alonso Mendoza and Jorge A. Romero, Juan Palomar, Jesús and Luis Vasallo, Daniel Villanueva Sandoval. Participants: Laura Elena Barba Prieto, Tatiana Bilbao, Joselo, Jesús Vasallo

The Joselo Maderista carpentry workshop presents eight pieces of furniture, inviting contemporary architects to design from rhythm. The project works around three main axes: the abstraction of the architectural practice of each participant, the notion of space, and the functionality inherent to design. This is why each piece of furniture in the collection is presented as architecture in itself.

Joselo Maderista works based on criteria defined by timelessness, function and durability. Solid wood is used in all projects, taking 100% care of the quality in each process and detail, and other materials such as brass and glass are also integrated. By having his own carpentry workshop, he has the ability to control the processes and select the appropriate wood to achieve the quality that the furniture transmits.
