Localidades was born from a quest to reveal the diversity of artistic voices that have converged and flourished in this vibrant city, illustrating Guadalajara's unique contribution to the contemporary art scene. It aims to explore, through a journey of conceptual and visual discourses, the crucial role it has played as a vital starting point for the development and creation of emerging and established artists.
Ramón Ferreiro (2012) refers to the concept of group creativity, since he considers human learning a collective process. Therefore, creativity also includes two fundamental moments: interactivity, the relationship established by the subject with the object of knowledge and interaction, communication between subjects.
Starting from this premise, Localidades is designed to have a dialogue between the visual and conceptual discourses of the artists that make it up, and with this achieve interaction, the exchange of critical, analytical and sensitive thinking of our public. Highlighting the inclusion of artists who represent the diversity of perspectives and styles present in the local art scene.
This exhibition is made up of sixteen artists who touch on themes related to the exploration of connections with the city and how it has influenced their trajectories; the interaction and collaboration between local and foreign artists, showing how encounters in Guadalajara have given rise to new perspectives and forms of expression; works that capture the essence of the city, its streets, architecture, colors and traditions; emerging artists who have found in Guadalajara a space conducive to artistic development and experimentation; the subtle, but enduring influence of Guadalajara on the creative psyche of local artists, highlighting cultural, social and historical elements that have left their mark on their works.
APTO Galería was born within the exchanges of the Guadalajara art scene and therefore seeks to generate a conversation around the confrontation of ideas, concepts and various ways of approaching the aesthetic fact within the local contemporary panorama. Considered that it is through contact and interaction that art acquires full meaning.
