Exhibition
-> Feb 4 2023 – Jun 25 2023
In Japanese, the word usagi means "rabbits" and "hares," but it also suggests a talismanic being that has the ability to "jump from edge to edge / and break the established linear system." Having migrated from Japan to Europe, first Spain and then Switzerland and Germany, Japanese artist Leiko Ikemura finds it familiar to jump into new languages and worlds, and explore new environments. Thus, his exhibition for the Museo de Arte de Zapopan conjures up a fantastic world based on dynamism in which the multiplicity of forms that are manifested in his work cross biographical, geographical, cultural and artistic borders in relation to media, motives and groups. of work.
