Iván Trueta

Diablo de polvo

For a little more than four years now, Iván Trueta (Mexico City, 1977) has been visiting the houses that were inhabited by his family in Mexico, after leaving Spain during the Franco era. These visits are a sort of anthropological research to go to spaces where a personal and political history has happened, and in a certain sense, still happens. [...]

Diablo de polvo is an appeal to memory, which, like a whirlwind, forms and pulverizes, lightens and darkens, so that we can pass through it in blindness or intuition. After the shock, hopefully we will see beyond what is behind.
