Thoreau en Michoacán
Exhibition
-> May 7 2022 – May 27 2022
Estudio Hospital presents Thoreau en Michoacán by Israel Martínez. This is a new version of the piece of the same name that Martínez presented at the last FEMSA Biennial, curated by Víctor Palacios and Daniel Garza Usabiaga.
"This is a literary, visual, and auditory project, with various collaborations, that speculates on a visit by the writer Henry David Thoreau to Pátzcuaro in 1845, which inspired his escape to Walden Pond to build his cabin and live two years two months and two days in the middle of nature, and write the fundamental book Walden, or life in the woods, a text that resonates with greater force today."
