Historias de terror: Visita al estudio de Lino Vite

atrás del ártico se esconde un paraíso

As part of the exhibition Behind the Arctic Lies a Paradise at the MAZ, artists Renata Petersen and Lino Vite will open the doors of their studios: spaces where their projects take shape and where, in addition, theories, legends, and forbidden knowledge inhabit—elements that give form to their artistic explorations. From distinct visual and research repertoires, they delve into subjects such as extraterrestrial life and religious or secular sects, with a critical and satirical gaze that draws from popular culture.

Lino Vite is an artist and graduate of the Bachelor’s degrees in Graphic Communication Design and Visual Arts from the University of Guadalajara. His practice spans sculpture, installation, and drawing. In recent years, he has focused on different conspiracy theories and urban legends, using them as conceptual anchors to explore themes such as their appropriation in the collective imagination and their representation in pop culture.
