Juegos de niñxs

EstaciónMAZ, the second location and extension of the Museo de Arte de Zapopan (MAZ), opens its doors with the opening of Juegos de niñxs, an exhibition by artist Francis Alÿs, curated by Cuauhtémoc Medina and Virginia Roy, previously presented at the Venice Biennale 2022, at the MUAC in 2023, among others.

Juegos de niñxs is an ongoing archive of videos documenting the games that children traditionally play in the streets and courtyards around the world. Several of these videos are located in regions of the world where economic crises, and the strength of tradition and social communities, have made the shared life of childhood on the street subsist. While they have a direct value of ethnographic documentation, they also metaphorically record the changes in contemporary societies and their conflicts.

The museum will organize activities for all audiences, both inside and outside the premises! As a kermesse, the celebration on the terrace will include activations and games designed for children, as well as a special presentation by Cabaret Capricho.
