Río que corre al mar
Espacio Morelos invites you to the closing of Río que corre al mar by Carolina Montejo, featuring a guided tour by curators Juan Bastardo and Enrique Nuño.
Her work is defined by the natural world, social and environmental justice, and technology. Over the past decade, Carolina Montejo has explored various material, mental, and mediated spaces that point to oppressive systems harming our communities, the environment, and the planet’s regenerative potential. Her creative process has evolved by acknowledging her own participation in systems such as capitalism and patriarchy, leading her to engage with creativity and dissent in a critical way. At times, she has sought to find beauty and imagine alternative worlds as an attempt to repair the bond between humanity and multiple forms of life.
The results of this exploration are visible in her experimental and journalistic narratives, which move through biological, feminist, and poetic realms.
The exhibition includes photographic works from the multimedia series Misión Ceres (2014–2016), as well as a collection of video works and short films including 100 días de Paz, Guerra y Liberación, El Agua Cesa el Fuego, Rizomas, and (RE) Adaptación.
