Gold has symbolized the solar and the sacred in multiple cultures, but today its technical reproduction has trivialized its value. Bruno Viruete revisits this tension by working with mass-consumed golden wrappers, such as beer and chocolate. His gesture recalls the ritual of the gold-digger, but he uses fragile and disposable materials. The pieces challenge the fascination with shine through fragility and appearance. Gold is no longer eternal or sacred: it is a mass-produced illusion.
