Alan Sierra | Narratividad en el arte contemporáneo

Convocatoria: Juegos florales de Zapopan

As part of the exhibition Ficciones. Narratividad en el arte contemporáneo, the Zapopan Museum of Art presents Juegos florales, a project by Alan Sierra that takes over the literary salon format to dismantle the logic of the contest and the dynamics of competition. The installation offers an open microphone to anyone living in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, or its surroundings, who is interested in sharing their poems with an audience, during this third reading session on Thursday March 20 at 7pm. At the end of the Juegos florales, during a closing ceremony on April 10, each participant will receive a small brass flower as a prize. To register, you only need to fill out the form and show up on the date scheduled for the reading aloud; the quota is limited to ten poets per session.

** A Gmail account is required to access the registration form.

** Registration deadline: Wednesday, March 19

*** Free activity — Youth and adults — Prior registration

Alan Sierra is an artist and collaborates as a writer, editor, and educator for different initiatives. His work consists of drawings, texts, sculptures, and live performances. In her work, she positions reading as an authorial task that is not limited to a receptive activity. She also links to professions parallel to literature — such as editing, translation, and illustration — to create conditions that allow for a more complex understanding of written culture. She studied a master's degree at the Institute Art Gender Nature in Basel, Switzerland, and was part of the SOMA Educational Program. She has participated in collective exhibitions in Mexico at the Museo Cabañas (2022) and at Casa del Lago (2024). Her work has been exhibited internationally at Castello.
