Patafísica Relacional

Exito.exito.exito is pleased to present Patafísica Relacional, the first active exhibition of the project, curated by Alejandra Rodríguez.

The exhibition brings together over 25 artists and projects, ranging from works dating back to the early years of the new millennium (archival pieces) to site-specific commissions conceived in the Yucatán Peninsula.

The show aims to operate as a playful journey through Yucatecan art scenes, their temporalities, and processes of mythification, as well as exercises in survival or workplace enjoyment proposed by the participating artists—using pataphysics as a pretext. Pataphysics, a concept invented in the second half of the 20th century by French poet and surrealist precursor Alfred Jarry, is understood here as a parodic science dedicated to the study of imaginary solutions and the laws that govern exceptions.

If there is one thing that seems to characterize a scene, it is precisely the impossibility of fully agreeing on what it is. Thus, the exhibition space is conceived as a territory of exploration and dialogue toward a possible shared diagnosis.
