The Tao says that a wise person ascended the mountain and realized that the most important thing was to know how to descend it, not to take anything for granted and to keep the same momentum as when he wanted to reach the top. It was during the descent that the wise person learned to hide all distractions, and that filled him with good luck, because once he had descended, no one knew what to think of him and his life was limited to the simple act of living without expecting more than the fruits of staying in the present. It was also then that he knew that when one exposes oneself, the outside world imprisons or punishes, and that loneliness itself is the tower of the spirit, the true summit.

This exhibition is a journey on those steps that ascend us to a mountain, behind the journey there is also the descent: returning from a world full of images that resembled fire, in flowers, over the sky. What do we do with all those visions? Were they more than just our own reflections on the road?

Mónica's work makes us experience that path.
