Canchas Desiguales

In connection with the exhibition Canchas Desiguales by Priscilla Monge, the Museo de Arte de Zapopan presents Línea de banda. Taller de mapas de terreno, led by Daniela Celis.

Not all of us play from the same place. Some terrains have slopes and invisible rules that favor some over others. Canchas Desiguales by Priscilla Monge poses a simple yet powerful question: How does the game change when the playing field is not equal for everyone? Through drawing and mapping exercises, the workshop seeks to turn everyday, neighborhood, school, or family surroundings into a living map—with mounds, detours, difficult zones, and also our own game strategies.

Daniela Celis holds a degree in Cultural Management from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) and has a specialization in Museum Management from ESNECA Business School. She develops projects in cultural management, curatorship, and education, with an emphasis on contemporary art, collaborative practices, and critical reflection on the social role of art and culture. She has collaborated on projects at venues such as the Museo de la Ciudad, the Centro de la Imagen, the Galería Juan Soriano, and the Network of Jesuit Universities in Mexico and Guatemala, working with exhibitions by artists including Leonora Carrington, Francisco Toledo, and Federico Silva, among others. She is currently part of the Public Programs team at the Museo de Arte de Zapopan, where she promotes mediation and education processes that strengthen the connections between contemporary art and local contexts.
