Centro Cultural de España en México presents a guided tour of Icono, nación y ciudadanía. Fotografía española en la Colección Foto Colectania, led by Dr. Laura González Flores.
A journey through photography in Spain from the mid-20th century to the present day, with the aim of recognizing the practices, themes, and key figures, as well as the historical and cultural context that has shaped its development. The exhibition will explore the resonances with photographic production in Mexico, identifying links and areas of convergence between the two countries. The activity will conclude with a guided tour of the exhibition.
Icon, Nation, and Citizenship: Photography from the Foto Colectania Collection, curated by Carles Guerra, bears witness to the dual process of modernization that began in the 1950s, whose changes are reflected both in the medium of photography and in the societies of southern Europe. Renowned artists such as Laia Abril, Cristina de Middel, Joan Fontcuberta, Cristina García Rodero, Chema Madoz, and Xavier Miserach participate in the exhibition.
