Jessica Sánchez (Sayula, Jalisco, 1986) is currently developing a painting project that works through fragmentation and deconstruction of the idea of nature as approached from the pictorial landscape, manipulating composition and distribution both within and beyond the stretcher frame. Her pictorial production has been exhibited at fairs, galleries, biennials, and institutions, including: Subtle Shifts – Presented by PARDON, Material Art Fire Vol. 4, Salón Acme N.6, N.9 and N.10, XIX Rufino Tamayo Painting Biennial, among others. She has received various recognitions, including the Acquisition Award at the 14th Northwest Visual Arts Biennial (2014), was a recipient of the Fonca/Conaculta Young Creators Grant 2011–2012, and was part of the Master's in Artistic Production (MaPA) with a CONACYT scholarship 2017–2019 (graduated with honors). She currently resides in Tijuana, Baja California, where she is developing an extensive painting project through various media.
