BARRRRIAL is the current residency model trapo, galería operates with Museo Insular. The focus of this program is to bring the local artistic community and the gallery’s visitors closer to practices that are either absent or uncommon in San Miguel de Allende.

Guillermina Bustos’s practice unfolds from a deeply analytical and investigative methodology. Her process yields various devices—such as diagrams and illustrations—that function as strategies to communicate and socialize themes like romantic love and affective and sexual bonds from a critical perspective.

The exhibition highlights a clear contrast with the predominant commercial offering in the shops and galleries of San Miguel de Allende, which aligns more closely with the bourgeois consumption habits that characterize a certain sector visiting the city. It is precisely within this tension that the exhibition seeks to intervene, activating urgent questions for the local context: What aesthetic values and discursive debates take center stage in San Miguel's art scene today? What interests does this dynamic serve? And, finally, would it be advisable to analyze, discuss, and transform this landscape?
