Esteban Huacuja presents the exhibition Nexus 33: del tonal al nahual, with Lucía Lara as the curator in the galleries of Gracias Arte.

Nexus 33: del tonal al nahual by Esteban Huacuja is an exhibition that raises some of the recurring questions of civilization along the history, from philosophy, art, science, in texts and research of anthropological or shamanic nature, to movies and science fiction books that nowadays question our immediate reality and experience in the world. That existing duality between the physical and the spiritual, expands to digital dimensions, augmented realities and multiverses.

The artist worked with non-traditional media by creating an animatronic, an android that -with an electronic mechanism- observes those who stand in front of it, exploring how interaction between machines modifies the human being and its context.

All these creatures send us to an apocalyptic atmosphere, to the discovery of vestiges that bear witness of their passing through the spheres of our realities, increasingly closer to the science fiction films that we used to perceive as distant.
