Opens on Aug 6 | 6:00PM - 11:00PM
Daniela Elbahara presents Entre el cielo y el concreto, a group exhibition curated by Frisa Mesa and Lourdes Bárcenas.
The pigeon, a persistent inhabitant of the urban landscape, becomes a metaphor for the contradictions of the contemporary city. Its presence evokes chaos, overcrowding, filth, and the traces of a progress that often conceals its own fractures. At the same time, its capacity for adaptation reveals a quiet resilience and an unexpected beauty that survives even in the most hostile environments.
The exhibition brings together 11 works that explore these tensions through diverse artistic practices and aesthetic approaches. Through the pigeon’s many narratives—from wartime messenger to contemporary pest—the selected artists construct a dialogue about the experience of inhabiting the city, placing at its center those who, like this bird, endure, unsettle, and find ways to coexist within the urban space.
Artists: Celeste Oka, Diana Alhelí, Diana Ugalde, Eduardo Durand, José G. Rivera, Leonardo Ascencio, Luis F. Muñoz, Manuel Pidal, Pablo H. Cobian, Ros Itzel Howes, Santiago Medina, Vico Valle.
