El Chico Paletas (Victor Alvarado)

Biquini Wax TV presents the exhibition Mundo de Caramelo by El Chico Paletas (Victor Alvarado), a fiction by MEMEmprendimiento in which a brand of sweets and artistic treats is built, which through parody and satire address the false promise neoliberal; present within all industries, as well as the creative one to which artists belong, and is approached as part of a metaphor: a Candy World.

That world promised by the system to which only through self-exploitation and class privilege is it possible to access, thus the exhibition puts into discussion, from the works that make up the project, all the bittersweet realities that as emerging artists, or creative, who find their practices precarious, experimenting on a day-to-day basis trying to reach this promised oasis. If this false neoliberal promise forces us to build a self-managed and independent subject that ascribes to the description of the neoliberal entrepreneur, this project leads to the absurd the premise of turning our person into an integral entertainment company, which uses its creative work to signal the inconsistencies of trying to adhere to these regulations, and the multiple crises that arise when trying to survive art.
