Convertirse en uno mismo: Drawings from Guadalajara collections 1945 - 2013

For more than ten years Materia de Dibujo/ Drawing Issues has undertaken a work of reflection on drawing in contemporary creation and the dissemination of drawing practices of artists who work between image, gesture and language.

Pursuing this interest, the exhibition Convertirse en uno mismo is the result of tracing the drawings belonging to three important collections of contemporary art in Guadalajara: the CIAK (Kraeppellin Research Center and Archive), the Ashida Cueto Collection and Archive, and the Charpenel Collection. .

Beyond reflecting the interests or circumstances of the founders of these collections, this court reading is the opportunity to bring together seventy years of drawing production in an exceptional way and glimpse the transdisciplinary and international links of contemporary art from Mexico and, in Particularly Guadalajara.
