Biombo: 9ª Feria de publicaciones independientes e ilustración
Art fair
-> Aug 15 | 10:00AM - 10:00PM
Biombo is a program of the Museo de Arte de Zapopan that fosters the expansion of artistic practices engaging with writing, publishing, and editorial processes through works that extend beyond the conventional book format, yet require reading in order to be fully understood.
As part of its initiatives, Biombo: Independent Publishing and Illustration Fair takes place annually. In its ninth edition, Biombo presents a program featuring talks, book launches, workshops, installations, activations, a publication fair, and a musical closing event. Throughout the day, the museum becomes a space for sharing processes, exchanging ideas, and engaging with diverse approaches to publishing, drawing, illustration, and graphic storytelling.
This year's international guest is Canadian artist Walter Scott, whose multidisciplinary practice spans comics, drawing, film, sculpture, and installation. The program also brings together independent publishing and illustration projects from Guadalajara, Mexico City, Bogotá, and other cities, strengthening the dialogue between local and international initiatives.
With this edition, MAZ reaffirms its commitment to creating spaces for the circulation of independent projects and to recognizing publishing as an expanded field where art, writing, design, and editorial experimentation converge.
