Beth Frey's exhibition Meet Me at the Puppet Motel is the inaugural exhibition of Pamela Weissenberg's conceptual space.

The artistic practice of Frey's work not only consists in her interdisciplinary practice- integrating technology in her watercolors and videos- formally, but it also consists in the creation of a very particular and personal world, composed of entities or puppets both grotesque and cartoon-like. Beth Frey combines and creates with the use of free programs/apps, images through AI technology (NightCafe), and social media (Instagram or Snapchat), with images that she has drawn, to convert into a part animal, part machinery, and part human entity. Her own quirky and grotesque metamorphosis into a beast is converted into a liberating act regarding the archaic expectations of sexuality and gender. Rejecting control in social norms and pre-established courtesies. The devastating humor from which she relates the sweetened techniques of some children's stories with selfies and the commodification of the image in social media, which in her case go beyond the experiments that Cindy Sherman did with her own body.

    — Pamela Weissenberg

Pamela Weissenberg is a conceptual space launched by Pamela Echeverria (founder of Labor gallery) and Rudy F. Weissenberg (co-founder and partner of AGO Projects). Both founders have decided to show and represent emerging and established artists that jointly will generate a program full of color expression and social critique. The project emerges organically during the pandemic through aesthetic discussions and profound questioning - about respect, the art industry and empathy. What art production is, how it is experienced and exhibited.
