El peso de la incertidumbre is a site-specific installation conceived for Rastro Galería de Vitrina by Adrián Pereda Vidal. The sculpture presented in the display case reproduces the graphic and material language of the "Solo" (Only) traffic confirmation sign, which typically accompanies restrictive signs on the country's roadways. By stripping the support of its primary restrictive sign, the restriction to which the "Solo" board refers becomes uncertain.

By positioning this sculpture in front of the golden reflective material at the back of the display case, the function of "Solo" shifts from confirming the absent restriction to directing the viewer's gaze both toward itself and toward the reflections contained within the display case. The uncertainty lies in the fact that the direction the sign confirms depends on who witnesses the work, the reflections they observe, and the meaning they produce from the possible readings generated according to each viewer's disposition of attention.

The traffic sign, together with the reflective booth contained in the display case, opens a doorway to the urban landscape of Torreón and to those who traverse and inhabit it.
