Victor Rodriguez’s most recent strokes on the canvas have gradually (in pandemic terms) developed into a project of it’s own ,he himself calls, ‘Spiked Honey’…. Or what we MEXA lovers would refer to as…. ‘Miel con Piquete’ (maybe?!?) Creating a rich combo of photo-realistic aesthetics with his well-known vanitas’, muses and montages, his work takes a whole other level, cohabitating with layers of quick liberating unplanned strokes; relating experiences, characters and stories that in the end, accentuate his on-brand depth in art history, deep social and political stances, and day- to-day dark humor.
