Sebastián Beltrán

Art Latinou invites you to the opening of Poema Indulgente, a solo exhibition by Sebastián Beltrán (Ensenada, 1972), visual artist and designer who lives and works in León, Guanajuato.

His training began in the early 1990s in Aguascalientes, where he studied painting and sculpture in visual arts workshops. He later continued his studies in fine arts in Guanajuato and specialized in sculpture at the Nicoli Laboratory in Carrara, Italy. Upon returning to Mexico, he further developed his practice through workshops led by Álvaro Blancarte at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California. His creative process is structured around notes, drawings, and texts that function as initial questions, which are then developed into three-dimensional sketches, critical paths, and material decisions. Since 2006, Beltrán has pursued a practice rooted in the intersection of sculpture and industrial design, disciplines he integrates in a balanced way and that have come to define the distinctive character of his work.
