Relatos Pétreos — Taller de Frottage

Plataforma presents Relatos Pétreos — Frottage Workshop, led by María Esteve Trull as part of her current residency at Plataforma.

This workshop proposes a sensorial exploration of the territory through walking, observation, and the collection of fragments from the landscape. Starting from the idea of the territory as a living archive—geological, historical, and symbolic—participants are invited to engage with their surroundings through attentive awareness, exploring how an everyday fragment can become an archive when observed with intention.

The workshop addresses notions such as the memory of the subsoil, urban and natural layers, volcanic landscape, and the territory as a sensitive archive. Through exercises in perception, walking, and material gathering, participants will reflect on the gesture of selecting and recognizing elements from their environment.

The experience culminates in the creation of a small collective cartography built from the collected elements and the stories that emerge during the walk, understanding that artistic practice can begin with the simple gesture of pausing, looking, and choosing.
