Objetos de extrañeza: Curatorial Tour

As part of Art Week, on February 7 at 12:00 pm, a guided tour of the exhibition Objetos de extrañeza will take place at Servidor Local, led by its curator, Mariela Patiño.

This specialized mediation offers insight into the threads that weave together the exhibition’s discourse, providing an opportunity to establish both an emotional and critical connection with the works on view. The activity is free and open to the public.

Mariela Patiño (Querétaro, 1988)

Cultural manager and facilitator trained in Communication and Contemporary Art. Her work focuses on research and the design of channels and formats that enable access to art through new logics of sensitization and engagement. She studied Communication and Journalism at the Autonomous University of Querétaro (2006–2010) and Contemporary Art: Context, Mediation, and Management at the University of Barcelona (2023–2024). She has collaborated with projects such as CutOut Fest – International Festival of Animation and Digital Art, where she served as Editorial Director, and Trámite – Collectors Bureau, where she was in charge of general coordination.

Building on her research project Joke: An Essay on Mediation in Non-Space—developed for her master’s degree—she is currently working on médium, a project that, through theoretical reflection at the intersection of art, communication, and technology, and through experimental curatorial practices, seeks to establish pathways for the development of artistic sensibilities that foster participation, learning, and imagination.
