What Touches, What Holds

Opening in the gallery’s main space. What Touches, What Holds presents recent work by Mexican artists Mariana Garibay Raeke and Manuela Riestra. Riestra’s practice evokes ancestral memories, mythology, and science fiction through objects that seem to emerge from an ancient yet futuristic lineage. Mariana Garibay Raeke, for her part, investigates how we experience the world through the body, approaching identity through sensation. The opening cocktail will feature a special performative activation by Manuela Riestra in collaboration with Mexican singer-songwriter Alaíde.

Activation event: February 6. 19:00 – 22:00 h

Considered one of the most relevant artists currently working in Mexico, Mariana Garibay Raeke will activate the exhibition What Touches, What Holds through sound and actions that draw from elements of dance. The activation is carried out in collaboration with Evelyn Méndez Maldonado, with music by Chantal Michelle.
