’till the cows come home
Exhibition
-> Jun 4 – Aug 15
Karen Huber Gallery presents the solo exhibition ’till the cows come home by Marc Breslin.
Marc Breslin (New York, 1983) is a painter and writer currently based in Mexico City. His practice focuses on creating intimate encounters that address themes such as time, place, loss, and reconstruction, understanding painting as a space for generating shared moments from both a historical and personal dimension.
Through the use of planes of color, his work questions mimetic representation and develops compositions in which schematic figures bordering on abstraction coexist with scenes that oscillate between landscape and imagination. His practice also intersects with other mediums—such as drawing, photography, and sculpture—which translates into a distinctive form of painting where the immediacy of the gesture, memory, and the physicality of the object are strongly present. He works directly with oil on canvas, building surfaces with remarkable visual depth.
