Mónica Rodríguez

Bengala presents the artwork of Mónica Rodriguez with the exhibition Volver al origen, hosted this time by Arde Arte.

The dialogue that Mónica Rodríguez holds with nature is that of the solitude of contemplating the world from a personal perspective, the abandonment of oneself through emotion. A response to an accelerated lifestyle and the industrial advances of big cities that unconsciously deprive us of our own freedom. But, as we go deeper into each of the images that integrate Volver al origen, first solo show by Mónica, we realize that she tells us all of the above, but also that the dialogue deserves to be made and heard, not from what we know, but from what we do not know. She suggests us to contemplate nature from intuition, from imagination, and to approach it from the different traditions and knowledge of the native communities: traditional medicine, ancestral rituals and methods of cultivation that obey the cycles of the earth. A spiritual journey that gradually fills us with essential questions: who are we, where do we come from and where are we going?
