Luz como materia

The MAZ presents Luz como materia in #MAZaltashoras, led by Luciano Rodríguez Arredondo—an activity that explores light as a sculptural material. Using glass, water, vapor, and metals, participants will experiment with reflection, refraction, and luminous movement, taking as reference works by Alicja Kwade and Gabriel Orozco featured in the exhibition Tremulaciones. Additionally, through LED lighting systems, DMX controllers, and TouchDesigner, an audiovisual narrative will be developed.

Luciano Rodríguez Arredondo is a multidisciplinary digital artist and scholar whose practice explores theoretical models related to complex systems, psychedelia, and chaos through new media tools and techniques. His work has been presented internationally in both physical and virtual spaces and has received recognitions such as Jóvenes Creadores, City to City UNESCO, Ecos Sonoros, and Creadores con Trayectoria, among others. Academically, he researches and develops educational processes using digital media as hybrid environments for creation and inquiry. He is currently coordinator of the Digital Art and Interactive Media department at CAAV, a professor at ITESO, and a guest professor at CMMAS.
