Cien gatos
As part of the parallel activities of Cien gatos, the Zapopan Art Museum (MAZ) presents the collective drawing session centered on the feline figure, Leer, escuchar, dibujar gatos, led by IRENE.
In this experience, drawing and sound intertwine in a live set created especially for the occasion, in which synthesizers respond to the stroke and expand it through space.
IRENE is a teacher, multidisciplinary artist, curator, and cultural manager. They hold a degree in Spanish American Language and Literature. They have completed diploma courses at ENAH, BUAP, and MAZ. Their practice articulates writing, performance, and cultural mediation. They have presented their work at spaces such as the Encuentro Nacional de Estudios Cuir, the Guadalajara International Book Fair, Biquini Wax EPS, the Museo Rufino Tamayo, the Museo de Arte Raúl Anguiano, and the Zapopan Art Museum. They have published poetry books and essays on ethnomusicology, and have also collaborated in the Periódico de Poesía of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Círculo de Poesía, and Grafógrafxs UAEMex. Through the MIXMX platform, they develop curatorial projects with a pedagogical approach, focused on cultural mediation and the activation of future audiences.
