Mal de ojo brings together Juan Carlos León's most recent production, a deep immersion into the plant universe, the migration of plants, their materials, souls and energies, to unravel their secrets from the molecular and microscopic to the cosmovisions that make rituals and the magical world possible. This series, composed of botanical works and “amulets of protection”, interprets rituality from the author's herbalist and animist experience, and invites us to reflect on our connection with other beings and the environment. It is a celebration of bio-ritualities and pluriversal cosmovisions, which reaffirm the coexistence in a universe woven by multiple knowledges and spiritualities.
